Senator Imee Marcos will remain part of her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s, senatorial slate for the upcoming midterm elections, according to campaign manager Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco.
Although Imee has expressed a desire for independence and distanced herself from the administration’s slate, Tiangco confirmed she is still a candidate under the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Tiangco also noted that while Imee has not officially declined to appear at campaign rallies, her participation remains uncertain, adding an element of suspense.
Beyond her relationship with Bongbong, Imee has maintained a friendly rapport with Vice President Sara Duterte, despite tensions between Duterte and the Marcos family in 2024.
Bongbong Marcos and his slate will kick off their campaign in Ilocos Norte on February 11, with the president attending multiple rallies throughout the campaign period.
