Mayor Joy Belmonte led Quezon City’s participation in Earth Hour yesterday, joining the global movement for climate action.
Belmonte emphasized that switching off lights not only conserves energy but also combats rising greenhouse gas emissions contributing to climate change.
She reaffirmed the city’s commitment to environmental responsibility through policies, community engagement, and partnerships for sustainability.
This year, Quezon City partnered with Robinsons Magnolia to highlight the importance of collective action in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss.
A ceremonial switch-off of non-essential lights took place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., underscoring the shared goal of creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.
