Suspicion arose that a DENR employee might be involved in the illegal logging activities. A truck carrying lumber was intercepted, with the driver unable to present valid documents, although the Tubay local government claimed ownership of the wood with DENR clearance. The DENR employee denied involvement, and investigations into the case are ongoing.
