AP.Bren, the Filipino champion team, has made history by becoming the first host country team to win the M-Series World Championship in Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB).
The team defeated ONIC Esports with a score of 4-3 in an intense final match held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila City.
In previous world championships and Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cups, no host country team had been able to secure the international title. However, AP.Bren broke the dreaded host country curse and emerged victorious on their home turf.
After suffering a devastating defeat against the Indonesian champions in the upper brackets, AP.Bren came into the final match with a hunger for revenge and a determination to win for the Filipino fans.
With the series coming down to a decisive final match, AP.Bren reverted to their known strategy of focusing on objectives. They outplayed ONIC Esports with a score of 11-7, making history as the first team to win the championship in front of a home crowd.
Coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro, along with players Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and David “FlapTzy” Canon, solidified their MLBB legacy with two M-Series titles to their names. This accomplishment is shared only by ECHO’s Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno.
