Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong urged the public to rely only on verified information amid claims of text messages between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former Undersecretary Adrian Bersamin about alleged kickbacks from infrastructure projects.
ACT Teachers Rep. Antonio Tinio and Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice said Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste showed them copies of the messages and a USB containing the full conversation.
Bersamin reportedly executed an affidavit at Leviste’s home out of fear of being made a “fall guy.”
Adiong emphasized that such serious allegations require authenticated evidence and should be addressed through proper legal and congressional channels, noting that impeachment hearings were the appropriate forum.
Leviste has not directly commented, while Bersamin’s involvement traces back to claims by former Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co, whose statements have been questioned by experts and critics alike.
