President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the proposed P6.352-trillion National Expenditure Program for 2025, a 10.1 percent increase from this year’s budget, to support the administration’s Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028.
The budget will prioritize food security, social protection, health care, housing, disaster resilience, infrastructure, digital connectivity, and energization. Key agencies to receive significant funding include the Departments of Education, Public Works, Health, the Interior and Local Government, and Defense.
The PDP’s pillars focus on human and social development, transforming production sectors for quality jobs, and creating an efficient bureaucratic environment.
Infrastructure expansion, climate action, and disaster resilience are also major components of the plan.
