Despite facing the possibility of new impeachment complaints, Vice President Sara Duterte continued delivering social services through the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in 2025.
Duterte anticipates fresh impeachment filings after the one-year bar lapses, but she stressed that these moves are politically motivated ahead of the 2028 presidential elections.
The OVP, working with a limited P733-million budget, partnered with other agencies and alternative funding sources to maintain assistance programs, providing medical aid to 4,643 Filipinos and burial support to 1,377 beneficiaries.
The office also helped 73,054 families affected by disasters, distributed 56,575 bags of rice through the RIICE Program, supported 2,245 entrepreneurs via Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day, and benefited 875,176 commuters with the Libreng Sakay program.
Duterte’s office maintained effective operations, with staff and spokespersons ensuring that she remains fully in charge despite frequent local and international travels.
