Aktor PH (League of Filipino Actors) has nominated “Star for All Seasons” Vilma Santos for the National Artist award, recognizing her six-decade-long contributions to Philippine cinema.
Santos, who began her career as a child actress, has portrayed a wide range of characters, earning numerous local and international awards.
Her impactful roles, such as in “Sister Stella L” and “Dekada ’70,” have addressed important social issues.
Santos’ dedication extends beyond acting, as she has also served as a mayor, governor, and congresswoman, earning the Presidential Lingkod Bayan award.
If awarded, Santos would join the ranks of esteemed artists recognized for their contributions to Film and Broadcasting/Broadcast Arts in the Philippines.
