Alas Pilipinas suffered its second loss in the 5th SEA V.League, falling to Vietnam 13-25, 21-25, 25-23, 9-25 on Saturday in Nakhon Ratchasima.
Despite a strong third-set comeback led by Vanie Gandler and Eya Laure, Vietnam pulled away decisively in the fourth set to secure the win.
Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Tran Thi Thanh Thuy powered Vietnam to their third straight victory over the Filipinos this year.
Vietnam will face defending champion Thailand on Sunday for the first leg gold medal.
Meanwhile, the Philippines aims to claim the bronze medal against Indonesia later the same day.
