Despite missing their top three foreign players, the Taiwan Mustangs are set to provide Gilas Pilipinas a challenging tune-up game at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Monday.
Taiwan coach Chris Gavina assured fans that, even without former NBA stars Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, and Quinn Cook, the Mustangs will deliver a competitive match.
Key players like Alex Cabagnot, Samuel Deguara, and Tevis Robinson are expected to lead the team against the Philippines.
The game is part of Gilas’ preparation for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, with the national team heading to Europe afterward for friendly games against Turkey and Poland.
The qualifying tournament begins on July 3 in Riga, with matches against Latvia and Georgia.
