Tropical Storm Queenie, internationally known as Surigae, has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA said.
As of 4 p.m. yesterday, it was 1,225 kilometers east of northern Luzon, with winds of 75 kph and gusts of up to 90 kph.
Queenie is expected to strengthen into a severe tropical storm by tomorrow and possibly become a typhoon over the weekend.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Mindanao, the Visayas, and other areas.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
