Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he will file cyber libel complaints against lawyer Levito Baligod Zaldy Co to support the International Criminal Court investigation on Duterte’s drug war.
Trillanes denied the claims, calling them an attempt to discredit the ICC amid the ongoing confirmation of charges hearing in The Hague.
He warned that exposing investigators and witnesses could endanger lives and constitute obstruction of justice under the Rome Statute.
Baligod alleged that funds were delivered in suitcases and that ICC interviews were coordinated by Trillanes’ group, claims he said were false and misleading.
Trillanes emphasized that the cyber libel suits aim to hold those spreading these accusations accountable while protecting the integrity and safety of the ICC proceedings.
