Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco is pressing the House of Representatives for greater transparency, demanding that the DPWH budget per congressional district and party-list projects be published online.
He criticized the House Appropriations Committee for not responding to his October 13 and October 20 requests, despite the 15-day response requirement under the Code of Conduct for Public Officials.
Tiangco highlighted two ₱3 million projects in Navotas that were not requested by the local government, questioning why such allocations were not disclosed.
He emphasized that online publication is crucial for public accountability and to show which representatives endorsed specific projects.
The issue arises amid Tiangco’s ongoing advocacy for transparency and the recent leadership change in the House, with Rep. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III replacing Rep. Martin Romualdez as Speaker.
