The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is seeking cooperation from the Chinese embassy and China Maritime Safety Agency following an incident where two Chinese commercial vessels allegedly rammed and sank a Filipino fishing boat near Subic, Zambales.
The incident, which occurred on July 3, resulted in injuries to a Filipino fisherman and the disappearance of another.
PCG spokesperson Rear Admiral Armand Balilo stated that efforts are underway to locate the missing fisherman and conduct a thorough investigation, with plans to involve Chinese authorities in the process.
The incident has prompted concerns and diplomatic actions as both countries work towards a resolution.
