Team Philippines is gearing up for the Paris Olympics with a 22-member delegation aiming to build on their successes from Tokyo.
Despite weightlifting champion Hidilyn Diaz missing out on qualification, athletes like boxers Carlo Paalam, Nesthy Petecio, and Eumir Marcial, gymnast Carlos Yulo, pole vaulter EJ Obiena, and others are set to lead the charge.
The contingent, the largest since 1992, includes debutants and returning athletes across various disciplines such as boxing, gymnastics, track and field, weightlifting, golf, judo, fencing, rowing, and swimming.
Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Tolentino is optimistic about surpassing the previous medal tally, emphasizing their ambition to make history once again.
