Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has vowed to push for accountability measures against those involved in illegal activities at Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) hubs.
In a press briefing, Romualdez criticized POGOs for failing to comply with regulations and highlighted that unlawful activities were uncovered following investigations by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor).
He emphasized that those responsible must face legal consequences, while displaced individuals will be accommodated if they are not involved in illegal activities.
Romualdez, along with other House officials, recently inspected POGO sites and related locations, uncovering evidence of illegal operations and connections to drug trafficking.
The House has been probing POGOs, illegal drugs, and alleged extrajudicial killings, revealing complex links between these issues and various individuals.
