Filipinos gave Team Philippines a warm welcome during a Heroes’ parade on Wednesday, celebrating the 2024 Paris Olympians through the streets of Manila and Pasay.
The parade honored double gold medalist Carlos Yulo, bronze medalists Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio, and other athletes including Samantha Catantan and Joanie Delgaco.
Enthusiastic fans lined the streets, waving flags and cheering as the Olympians’ float, adorned with Olympic rings, passed by.
The athletes engaged with the crowd, signing autographs and acknowledging banners with humorous slogans.
The parade, which began at Aliw Theater in Pasay and concluded at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, marked the athletes’ successful return and the country’s best Summer Games finish.
