Former DPWH chief Babes Singson and SGV managing partner Rossana Fajardo were appointed commissioners of President Marcos Jr.’s Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), a key body targeting government corruption.
Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong will serve as a special adviser to the commission.
The ICI, created by Executive Order 94, is tasked with investigating ghost flood control projects and has the power to conduct probes, issue subpoenas, and recommend charges.
Marcos established the commission following revelations of P100 billion in flood control contract anomalies, which also sparked congressional investigations.
The commission aims to hold accountable those involved in the corruption, including lawmakers and contractors implicated in kickback schemes.
