The nationwide Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) has immediately hired at least 1,488 graduating SHS and ALS learners, fulfilling President Marcos Jr.’s goal of bridging graduation and employment.
The joint initiative by DepEd and DOLE mobilized around 40 schools nationwide as one-stop shops for pre-employment services and job vacancies.
About 40 percent of qualified job seekers were hired on the spot, while nearly 6,000 learners availed of free pre-employment documents to ease the school-to-work transition.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted that the fair reduces costs for families and empowers graduates to start careers immediately.
DOLE Undersecretary Carmela Torres said the program not only offers jobs but also creates employment pathways for first-time job seekers.
