SANDRO MARCOS SAYS POWER STRUGGLE LED TO UNITEAM BREAKUP

House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos said he saw the breakup of the UniTeam alliance between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte coming.

He attributed the split to a power struggle involving various political groups seeking influence over the administration.

Sandro said he was saddened by the political chaos that followed, which he said took time away from governance.

He also recalled a 2022 meeting where individuals allegedly sought several key government appointments in exchange for supporting his father’s presidential bid.

Sandro said his father rejected the demands, which included the selection of the Executive Secretary, Speaker, Senate President, and other Cabinet officials.
