Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon said about 215 members of the House of Representatives have expressed support for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte following consultations with lawmakers.
He noted that the figure is more than two-thirds of the chamber and is comparable to last year’s impeachment vote tally.
Under the Constitution, only one-third of House members, or at least 106 votes, is needed to transmit the impeachment articles to the Senate.
The House justice committee has already approved the impeachment report, citing allegations including misuse of confidential funds, unexplained wealth, and other offenses.
Meanwhile, Sen. Francis Pangilinan said he is considering an offer to serve as impeachment manager in the Senate trial, though no final decision has been made.
