Filipino boxer Reymart “Assassin” Gaballo is set to face Indian fighter Pawan Kumar Arya on Sunday at the Phela Grande Convention Center in General Santos City.
The 28-year-old Gaballo (29-2, 24 KOs), currently ranked No. 12 by both the IBF and WBO, assured fans of his readiness after tough sparring sessions at Sanman Boxing Gym under coach Nonito Donaire Sr.
He vowed to make his countrymen proud, with Donaire Sr. emphasizing their goal of winning either by points or knockout.
The event will also feature Criztian Pitt “Golden Boy” Laurente and Hebi Marapu battling for the IBF Pan Pacific lightweight title.
Sponsored by Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao and the city government, the free boxing showcase is part of the Gensan Tuna Festival celebrations.
