RENEWABLE ENERGY: QUEZON CITY HALL NOW SOLAR-POWERED

The Quezon City government plans to solarize all city-owned buildings to reduce reliance on non-renewable energy and advance climate action.

Hundreds of solar panels were installed at the city hall, with 1,000 more slated for hospitals and schools.

Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the city’s commitment to energy efficiency and renewable sources.

The initiative aims to save up to P1.5 million annually and cut the city’s carbon footprint by 125 tons.

These savings will support the maintenance and rehabilitation of local daycare and healthcare centers.
