President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed government agencies to review the defunded programs in the National Expenditure Program (NEP), to restore key initiatives.
Speaking during the 18th Cabinet Meeting, Marcos emphasized the need to prioritize programs that were removed from the NEP.
He highlighted several critical budget cuts, including a P12-billion reduction for road maintenance and P21-billion for feasibility studies.
Marcos expressed willingness to meet with each department to align the actual expenditure program with the NEP.
This meeting follows the recent signing of the P6.326-trillion 2025 General Appropriations Act, where Marcos vetoed P194 billion in line items.
