The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) will require contractors to livestream daily construction activities for all projects awarded starting January 2026.
PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago said the move aims to enhance transparency and prevent substandard or “ghost” projects.
The livestreams will cover the entire duration of construction, with equipment and network provided by the contractors, and recordings will be stored for verification.
The agency has previously used geotagging to validate projects, and the new policy adds another safeguard against allegations of overpricing or poor-quality work.
Santiago also announced a circular updating construction material prices every six months to ensure costs reflect market rates and prevent price inflation.
