Lawmakers have backed the four-month term extension of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Marbil, citing his effective, intelligence-driven approach to law enforcement.
House committee chairs Rep. Robert Ace Barbers and Rep. Dan Fernandez lauded Marbil’s leadership for reducing crime and restoring public trust without unnecessary bloodshed.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved the extension, which took effect on February 7. PNP officials also expressed support, emphasizing Marbil’s role in modernizing policing strategies.
Barbers and Fernandez further commended Generals Anthony Aberin and Nicolas Torre III for their contributions to public safety.
