Quezon City 5th District Rep. PM Vargas has presented documents from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) disproving allegations by contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II that Vargas was involved in corruption linked to flood mitigation projects.
Vargas showed certifications confirming that no projects awarded to the Discaya couple exist in his district.
He also verified that all flood control projects in his area are completed and listed on President Marcos’ website.
Vargas expressed surprise over his name being mentioned in the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing and denied any involvement in kickbacks.
He is now preparing to file a legal case against Curlee and his wife, who own nine construction companies.
