PLUNDER ALLEGATIONS HIT DUTERTE AND GO OVER NAVY FRIGATE AGREEMENT

Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go are facing a new plunder complaint filed by former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, related to the P16-billion Navy frigate acquisition project.

Trillanes accused Duterte and Go of manipulating the project to downgrade the frigates and favor Hyundai’s choice of the Combat Management System, resulting in alleged ill-gotten wealth of at least P50 million.

This complaint, the second from Trillanes, claims that the price difference in the CMS deal indicates plunder.

Go dismissed the accusations as politically motivated and “rehashed” for the 2025 elections, asserting that previous investigations cleared him of wrongdoing.

The House of Representatives has also invited Duterte and Sen. Ronald dela Rosa to address allegations of extrajudicial killings from the past administration.
