Senator Panfilo Lacson announced he has damning evidence against corrupt officials in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), which he plans to present to Secretary Vince Dizon.
Lacson linked sacked district engineers Henry Alcantara and Bryce Hernandez to a syndicate involved in ghost and flood control projects in Bulacan, with investigations revealing lavish lifestyles and gambling activities.
Alcantara denied masterminding the fraudulent projects, claiming they were done without his knowledge, but was dismissed for grave misconduct.
The House infrastructure committee will focus on contractors linked to the Discaya couple, suspected of involvement in anomalous flood control projects.
Meanwhile, the DPWH budget deliberations have been deferred pending revisions, as lawmakers continue probing corruption and shifting blame between legislative and executive branches.
