The Philippines welcomed its first charter flight from Mongolia on December 26, carrying 126 passengers, mostly Mongolian nationals, at NAIA Terminal 1.
Passengers were greeted with beaded necklaces as a welcome gesture.
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said the flight supports the government’s efforts to diversify visitor markets and boost air connectivity for tourism growth.
Mongolia, currently a niche market, previously required travelers to transit through third countries due to the lack of direct flights.
The charter flights, scheduled until January 10, 2026, will provide an estimated 616 new seats, timed to coincide with Mongolia’s peak winter travel season.
