Filipino beach volleyball duo James Buytrago and Rancel Varga secured a silver medal in the FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour, following a hard-fought match against the Czech Republic’s Krystof Jan Oliva and Vaclav Kurka.
Despite their defeat, Buytrago and Varga expressed gratitude for the experience and acknowledged the challenges they faced.
Their journey to the finals included a victory over Toms Liepa and Ernests Puskundzis of Latvia in the semifinals.
This achievement adds to the Philippines’ success in the tournament, where Sisi Rondina and Jovelyn Gonzaga previously clinched gold in the women’s division.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Chenoa Christ and Anna-Lena Grune emerged as champions in the women’s category, with Japan’s Riko Tsujimura and Takemi Nishibori securing bronze.
