The 5150 Triathlon in Guimaras this weekend marks the start of the Philippines’ new triathlon season and highlights the province’s debut as a host for multi-sport events.
The race also aims to boost the country’s sports tourism efforts.
It launches the first-ever 5150 Triathlon Islands of the Philippines Series, a four-leg circuit bringing the IRONMAN 5150 brand to key island destinations.
Organized by Sunrise Events, Inc., the series is part of the National Sports Tourism-Inter Agency Council’s campaign to promote the Philippines as a top location for international sporting events.
The event positions Guimaras and other islands as hubs for world-class athletics while encouraging local tourism growth.
