US President Donald Trump will attend the 49th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Manila this November, Malacañang confirmed.
Palace press officer Claire Castro said the details of his visit would be announced later, while President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared Nov. 16 to 18 as special non-working days in Metro Manila for the event.
The United States has been an ASEAN dialogue partner since 1977 and remains the bloc’s second-largest trading partner and largest source of foreign direct investment.
Castro declined to confirm whether the US-led Pax Silica initiative would be signed during Trump’s visit.
Trump last visited the Philippines in November 2017 for the 31st ASEAN Summit and most recently met Marcos in Washington in July 2025 to discuss trade, defense cooperation, and regional security.
