President Marcos dismissed as “immaterial” the condition set by fugitive religious leader Apollo Quiboloy that he would return if guaranteed not to face “extraordinary rendition” to the US.
Marcos emphasized that such conditions are irrelevant to the executive branch, which is only responsible for Quiboloy’s arrest, with the courts handling further legal proceedings.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) warned that Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) members might face criminal charges for obstructing the manhunt for Quiboloy, who is suspected to be hiding in a KOJC compound.
The PNP also criticized attempts to politicize the arrest operation and urged public support for fair justice.
Senators, led by Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, will inspect the KOJC compound to address transparency concerns related to the ongoing manhunt.
