PBBM DIRECTS FASTER COMPLETION OF MARAWI REHABILITATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged the acceleration of Marawi City’s rehabilitation and the completion of Metro Manila infrastructure projects during the 8th Economy and Development Council meeting.

The Bangon Marawi Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery Program (BMCRRP) Stage 2 includes rebuilding roads, bridges, drainage systems, and utilities, with the project now 19.61% complete and a proposed cost increase to PHP9.51 billion.

Completed infrastructure includes permanent shelters, Marawi City General Hospital, the Port of Marawi, and key schools and markets, while ongoing projects cover bulk water supply and ancillary facilities.

In Metro Manila, the Unified Grand Central Common Station faces delays due to contractor issues, though interim operations linking LRT-1 and MRT lines are planned by mid-2027.

Marcos emphasized timely approvals, proper communication, and preventing delays to ensure Marawi’s recovery, improved mobility, and faster delivery of benefits to affected communities.
