P17 BILLION SET ASIDE FOR NATIONWIDE FEEDING PROGRAMS

Congress has allocated up to P17 billion for school- and community-based feeding programs in 2025, as announced by Quezon City 4th District Rep. Marvin Rillo.

Of the total, P11.8 billion will fund the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) under the Department of Education, while P5.2 billion will go to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP).

Rillo emphasized that these programs are crucial for children who suffer from hunger, helping them stay in school and combat malnutrition.

He stressed that the feeding initiatives improve health and support the educational development of vulnerable children.

The SBFP specifically targets incoming kindergarten to grade six students who are classified as wasted, severely wasted, stunted, or severely stunted.
