Eight Filipino weightlifters will compete in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth and Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru, from April 30 to May 5, 2025.
Leading the team is Zamboanga City’s Angeline Colonia, a gold medalist at the 2024 World Juniors in Spain, who will compete in the junior women’s 45kg division.
Joining her are several other talented athletes from Zamboanga City, including Alexsandra Ann Diaz, Rosalinda Faustino, Jhodie Peralta, Jay-R Colonia, and Albert Ian Delos Santos, along with Cebu’s Althea Bacaro and Prince Keil Delos Santos from Angono, Rizal.
Many of the team members are medalists from the 2024 Asian Youth and Junior Championships in Qatar, including Peralta and Prince Delos Santos.
The squad will be accompanied by coaches Antonio Agustin, Gregorio Colonia, Diwa Delos Santos, and Christopher Bureros.
