OLYMPIANS AND PARALYMPIANS TO RECEIVE RECOGNITION AT PSA AWARDS

The San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (SMC-PSA) Awards Night will honor the Philippines’ Olympic and Paralympic heroes on January 27 at The Manila Hotel.

The event marks the 100th anniversary of the country’s participation in the Olympic Games, with tributes paid to Olympians from the past six decades, organized by the Philippine Olympians Association.

Representatives from various Olympic teams, including those from the 1964 Tokyo Games to the 2024 Paris Games, will attend the ceremony.

Gymnastics star Carlos Yulo will receive the Athlete of the Year award, while boxing champions Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas are among the major awardees.

Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, the first Filipino Olympic gold medalist, will also be inducted into the PSA Hall of Fame.
