The combined effects of Tropical Cyclones “Maymay” and “Luis” and the enhanced southwest monsoon have killed six people and affected over 261,000 others, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported.
Two new deaths were recorded in La Union, while four others previously died in landslides and rockslides in Benguet and Rizal.
The weather disturbances also injured seven people, damaged 120 houses, and caused an estimated P105.5 million in infrastructure losses and P3.53 million in agricultural damage.
More than 7,500 people are staying in 83 evacuation centers, with the government providing P7.38 million in assistance.
In Romblon, the Philippine Coast Guard evacuated 12 residents from three families after floodwaters rose in Odiongan.
