NSC URGES PALAWAN FISHERMEN TO ASSERT RIGHTS IN WPS

The National Security Council (NSC) has encouraged Palawan fishermen to continue their livelihood in the West Philippine Sea, asserting the Philippines’ sovereign rights over the area.

NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting Filipino fishermen amid rising tensions in disputed waters. 

The council also highlighted ongoing programs to ensure safety and support for fishing communities in Palawan. 

Malaya assured that the presence of Philippine maritime forces would help safeguard their activities. 

The government’s stand reflects its dedication to preserving maritime rights and supporting the livelihoods of its citizens.
