Newly proclaimed Legazpi City Mayor Alfredo Garbin anticipates a smooth transition of power following his official proclamation by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Garbin, who replaces disqualified former mayor Geraldine Rosal, expressed optimism about a peaceful handover, attributing it to the community’s peaceful nature. He believes the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Rosal’s disqualification will bring closure to the divisive issue. Garbin’s term, lasting only until the 2025 midterms, will see him run as the second nominee for the Ako Bicol party-list.
