The National Amnesty Commission (NAC) has received 2,424 amnesty applications from former members of rebel and insurgent groups, according to its latest tally.
Of these, 1,546 applications came from ex-members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), while 518 were from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and 297 from the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
The NAC also recorded 63 applications from the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPM-P/RPA/ABB).
During a recent government meeting on normalization efforts, the NAC processed 127 applications in a single day, primarily from MILF and MNLF members.
The commission continues to process applications to determine eligibility for presidential amnesty.
