MORE POWER WANTS STRONGER, MORE STABLE VISAYAS GRID

MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) is calling for the normalization of the Visayas power supply following more than a month of rotational blackouts and rising electricity costs.

The company said prolonged yellow alerts caused by outages at three major power plants have led to significant power losses and higher prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market.

MORE Power is seeking cheaper power sources from bilateral suppliers to help reduce electricity costs for consumers.

It also urged residents in Iloilo to conserve electricity while power generation issues persist.
