The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued a preventive suspension order to Bong Nebrija, the head of the Task Force Special Operations Unit.
This action comes after an incident where a vehicle, claiming to be part of Senator Bong Revilla’s convoy, was allowed to use the EDSA bus carousel lane.
The preventive suspension order, starting on November 16, aims to investigate the matter fairly. Video footage of the vehicle is available.
Enforcers involved will explain why they falsely mentioned Senator Revilla’s involvement, while the driver will clarify their mention of the senator.
Notably, the traffic enforcers directly involved are not suspended. Nebrija defended his actions, citing information received and suggesting the enforcer may have been intimidated by false claims of knowing Revilla.
Senator Revilla confirms no involvement and receives a personal apology from MMDA acting chairman Don Artes, who promises a thorough investigation to identify those responsible, including the motorist falsely claiming affiliation with the senator.
