Tarlac province has been placed under a state of calamity due to widespread damage caused by southwest monsoon rains, Gov. Christian Yap said Sunday.
The declaration was approved through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 416-2026 following a recommendation from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Several towns experienced flooding, while the Aquino and Agana bridges became impassable due to rain-related damage.
Another portion of the Aquino Bridge collapsed on Sunday, worsening the disruption.
Authorities have deployed heavy equipment and are working to build a temporary Bailey bridge to restore access.
