Mayor Jaime Capil has urged government regulators to address national security concerns related to Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), calling for enhanced validation processes for incorporators by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
He emphasized the need for stringent validation to ensure compliance with national and local laws, stating that this step is crucial for maintaining the integrity of corporate entities entering the economic landscape.
Capil proposed a comprehensive review and enhancement of SEC validation processes to effectively identify and mitigate risks posed by incorporators, particularly those associated with POGOs.
He underscored the importance of collaboration among government agencies to combat potential security threats arising from entities like POGOs, amid ongoing efforts to apprehend POGO incorporators, including Chinese fugitives, in Tarlac.
