West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. is investing ₱7.7 billion in 2026 to cut non-revenue water (NRW), aiming to reduce losses from unbilled or leaked water in its network.
Over half of the budget will be spent on replacing deteriorated pipelines, particularly in Valenzuela and Manila, where NRW remains highest at 38 percent.
The company is leveraging artificial intelligence and satellite technology to detect leaks early and optimize water recovery.
Last year, Maynilad reduced NRW to 30.8 percent, equivalent to 256 million liters of recovered water per day, with a target of 29 percent this year and 20 percent by 2030.
These initiatives are part of its long-term plan to ensure efficient water delivery and sustainable infrastructure for future generations.
