President Marcos met with actor George Clooney and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney at Malacañang on Friday, Nov. 14, to discuss strengthening press freedom in the Philippines.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Amal Clooney emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in expanding access to justice for vulnerable communities, while Marcos stressed the need for responsible regulation to ensure ethical AI use.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to press freedom and welcomed the Clooneys’ visit.
The couple, founders of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, are in Manila for the Social Good Summit 2025, where they will speak on global challenges affecting free speech and civil liberties.
