MARCOS CONFIRMS NTF-ELCAC WILL NOT BE ABOLISHED

President Marcos rejected calls to abolish the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), citing its success in reducing communist insurgency activities.

During a meeting with NTF-ELCAC members, Marcos emphasized that the task force has been effective in curbing terrorism and vowed to continue its efforts.

He referred to the task force’s progress as encouraging, highlighting that efforts are “bearing fruit” and that the government must continue investing in its success.

In addition, Marcos ordered an increase in the budget for the Barangay Development Program (BDP) under NTF-ELCAC, raising each barangay’s allocation from P2.5 million to P5 million for this year.

The President also expressed the need to restore the original P10 million per barangay allocation for 2025 to ensure the continued success of the program.
