Criminal charges for terrorism have been filed against Gian Carlo Dela Cruz Maningo for making online threats against the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and its officials.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) found prima facie evidence supporting the charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act and Cybercrime Prevention Act, recommending no bail.
Maningo allegedly posted on Facebook offering rewards to kill Comelec officials and bomb Comelec sites, naming specific targets.
The post included photos of Comelec Commissioner George Erwin Garcia, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, and Mayor Raymond Garcia, intending to spread fear and intimidation.
The DOJ emphasized its commitment to prosecuting crimes that endanger public safety and misuse digital platforms to incite violence.
